Weather Maps - Samples

US Satellite Map
This map displays cloud cover over the continental United States. Typically, satellite imagery is available in "visible" and "infrared" versions, but we use infrared (IR) satellite imagery because it enables us to see the clouds both day and night.

US Radar
This map is a radar image for the continental United States formed from a composite of many individual radar stations.

US Highs Map
This map shows the high temperature contours across the United States. The temperature data is sampled from the National Weather Service Global Forecast System model (GFS). We use a high resolution sampling to create detailed contours.

Low Temperature Map
Created the same as the high temperature contour map except sampling is for minimum temperatures.

US Precipitation
This map displays the location and intensity of precipitation for the next 12 hours. It is updated every 6 hours. To determine the amount of rainfall, use the legend at the top of the map.

US Forecast Map
We use "Flash" to subtly display a one day forecast for all the locations marked on the map. Move your cursor over a location and a window will open up in the right hand corner of the map to show today's forecast for that city.

This map uses "Flash" to display current weather conditions for a location. Move your cursor over a location and a window opens in the right hand corner to show weather, temperature, humidity, wind, and barometric pressure.
